Welcome to the website for the 4th annual White Rose South Asia Network postgraduate conference, to take place at the University of Leeds in July 2020!

The event has been hugely successful in previous years, with increasing numbers of PGRs and ECRs attending and much collaboration and networking taking place year on year. In 2017, the theme was ‘Futures Past: South Asia Then and Now’. In 2018 it took place at the University of Sheffield with a focus on ‘Voices through History’. Last May, it took place at the University of York under the title ‘South Asia: Exclusion, Dialogue, Exchange’, featuring multiple parallel panels, contributions from academic partners, and a fascinating keynote presentation from Professor Sarah Ansari.

This year, the theme will be Space, Place and Temporalities. The PGR organisers for the event – Benjamin Holt, Meena Menon, Dr Radha Kapuria, Zaynab Seedat, Tom Shillam, Arunima Theraja – are already deeply engrossed in planning for the event and looking forward to proceeding with and publicising it in coming months. The call for papers will be out soon.
